"Happy Trails" This pendant was created from boot grommets combined with trail camera flash bulbs and sterling silver.
I had a pair of hiking boots for 26 years (not the ones in the picture but the same style/brand) and when they finally wore out I hated to toss them. I knew there had to be something I could salvage from them.
After many days of cutting, cleaning and sanding I was able to get some grommets in usable shape.
Oddly enough one of our trail/game cameras broke. I tore that apart and found that the flash bulbs were a great shade of blue.
I combined these items with Mokume Gane and viola! Happy Trails was born.
